Dr Daniel Susskind
Research Professor in Economics, King's College London
Dr Daniel Susskind is a Research Professor in Economics at King's College London, and a Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Ethics in AI at Oxford University. He is the co-author of the best-selling book, The Future of the Professions (2015) and the author of A World Without Work (2020), described by The New York Times as "required reading for any potential presidential candidate thinking about the economy of the futureā. His TED Talk, on the future of work, has been viewed more than 1.6 million times. Previously he worked in various roles in the British Government - in the Prime Minister's Strategy Unit, in the Policy Unit in 10 Downing Street, and in the Cabinet Office. He was a Kennedy Scholar at Harvard University.

Susan Ball
President, CIOT
Susan is the President and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) and sits on the CIOT Council and Employment Taxes Committee. She is also a Member of ATT, and Past Joint Chair and founder member of the CIOT/ATT Suffolk Branch. As a partner at RSM, Susan works in the employer solutions team and has over 30 years' experience in employment tax, investigations and reward field, advising clients across a range of sectors. Susan was included in the 2018 to 2022 Reward Strategy Reward 300 Hall of Fame and the Accountancy Age Financial Power List 2019. She also received highly commended in the Women in Accountancy and Finance Awards 2020, and Role Model of the Year - Practice (National and Global).

Helen Whiteman
Chief Executive, CIOT
Helen Whiteman joined the CIOT in September 2019 following being Chief Executive of CILEx Regulation Limited, a role she held since 2015. She studied Law at De Montfort University, before undertaking a Masters in IT at the University of Warwick. After initially working in investment marketing and PR, then lecturing in law and e-business, she joined the legal field managing practice development and marketing for a law firm in Leicester. She joined CILEx in 2008 as head of corporate affairs having served as director of member services at LawNet. She became Chief Operating Officer at CILEx in 2012, and was responsible for overseeing CILEx's membership, qualifications, journal, international and regulatory affairs functions. Helen is a volunteer trustee for the legal mental health and wellbeing charity, LawCare, and is also a Mental Health First Aider

Ian E Hayes FCA CTA FIIT FRSA
Consultant Tax Adviser and Chair, Tax Technology Committee CFE Tax Advisers Europe
Ian is currently Chair of CFE Tax Advisers Europe Tax Technology Committee, a CIOT Council member and Chair of the working group set up to develop the Diploma in Tax Technology. He practises as a consultant adviser specialised in VAT, Cross Border Trade and Tax Technology, and, in his professional life, has worked with, advised and established technology-based enterprises. He has been elected President of CFE Tax Advisers Europe and will take up office in January 2023.

Paul Aplin OBE
Paul is a CIOT Council member and a member of the ICAEW Tax Faculty Board, CFE Tax Technology Committee, HMRC Administrative Burdens Advisory Board and a senior adviser to technology companies untied and Taxteq. He filed the UK's first electronic personal tax return in 1997.He was for thirty years a tax and IT partner with an independent West Country firm and is a well-known writer and speaker on tax policy and tax technology. He was appointed OBE in 2009.

Shan Sun
Tax Technology Lead, Deliveroo
Shan is the Tax Technology Lead at Deliveroo, working with the engineering and finance departments of the business to optimise tax systems and processes, specifically in relation to data and ERP. Shan's work focuses on ensuring that tax relevant data (including sensitive personal and financial data) is consistent, accountable, and accurate. A solid data foundation is vital to ensure robust tax reporting and compliance, risk management and insightful analytics. Prior to Deliveroo, Shan worked as the Tax Innovation Lead at Unilever. She started her tax career 15 years ago as a Transfer Pricing Specialist.

John Sandall
Founder & Principal Data Scientist, Coefficient
John's experience in data science and software engineering spans multiple industries and applications. He is a Fellow of Newspeak House and co-organiser of PyData Bristol. Previous experience includes Lead Data Scientist at YPlan, business analytics at Apple Inc., genomics research at Imperial College London, building an ed-tech startup at Knodium, developing strategy & technological infrastructure for international non-profit startup STIR Education.

Jonathan Scriven

Jonathan leads the Tolley tax business at LexisNexis which is a leading provider of online research and guidance, workflow tools and professional training to the tax industry. Jonathan has 10+ years' experience working in the information, technology and learning space where he has primarily focused on developing SaaS based knowledge management systems, workflow and decision tools as well as a broad spectrum of learning solutions.
